Have you checked your student's backpack for important info about our upcoming fundraiser, the Marvista Miler, taking place September 26th? Make sure you read it carefully!
The Miler is our annual fun run that takes places during the school day, and one of only two fundraisers we do each year. It's fully put on by the PTSA! This is a crowd favorite event that EVERYONE can participate in, even if they are unable to donate. Plus, thanks to our community partners, EVERY kid in the school will get their own Marvista Miler T-shirt.
The PTSA uses funds raised from this event to provide teacher grants, field trip funds, assemblies, school supplies, the art docent program, family events all year long, and so much more more. We have a big goal of raising $40,000 in order to keep our programs fully funded.
Students who participate in fundraising can earn prizes for themselves and their class, including popsicle parties for the whole class, pizza parties for top-earners, Amazon gift cards, and a handful of lucky students will get to silly string Principal Heater!
Plus, everyone who collects a pledge of any amount will get entered into our weekly raffle for other prizes!
BUT, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Fundraising starts NOW. There are many ways to collect funds, but the best way is to share your child's personal pledge page with your networks online! Be sure to visit your child's fundraising page on https://99pledges.com/ (instructions in packet sent home with students) for the their personal link, and to track their progress. We also accept cash and checks via envelope with your student's name on it, turned in to your teacher or the treasurer's box in the main office. Does your company match gifts? Consider tapping into your match funds for this!
Help us meet our fundraising goals and have some community fun while we're at it. Keep checking social media for more information, and be sure to subscribe to the Orca Times for timely updates.
And parents, we can't run amazing events like the Marvista Miler without your help! If you're able to help volunteer at the event (light setup, getting kids organized, and cleanup) please please sign up today!
